Hi, I’m Katie!
I knew the moment I found my postpartum doula program that this was my work. Supporting new parents and snuggling newborns truly feeds my soul, and it brings me so much joy.
I'm a mom of five, so I remember those early weeks well: the love, the worry, and the "is this normal?" at 3am. (Spoiler: most of the time, it is.) Getting to look a new parent in the eye and say "your baby is doing great, and so are you" never gets old. It's why I'm excited to go to work every day.
Before becoming a doula, I earned my degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State, so how families grow and change has always been my thing.
My sweet spots are first-time parents, bottle and combo feeding, and postpartum recovery. I'm also passionate about postpartum mental health, so checking in on how you're really doing is part of every shift. Need a little meal prep or a load of laundry done? I'm on it. And overnights are a favorite, because a few nights of real sleep can change everything.
What Support With Me Looks Like
No two shifts are the same, because no two families are the same. When I walk in, I look around and figure out where I can help most. Maybe that's feeding the baby so you can shower. Maybe it's folding laundry, prepping a meal, or tidying the nursery so things feel calmer.
I meet you where you are and build on what's already working. My goal is for you to feel more confident with your baby, and to actually enjoy those newborn days.
I'll check in on you, too, not just the baby. How are you sleeping, eating, and feeling? If you need more support than I can give, I'll help you find the right people.
Families describe me as caring, supportive and empathetic, and also charismatic and funny. (A good laugh at 2am counts as support, right?)
A Little About Me
I've been married for 23 years, and with five kids, you'll usually find me cheering at school and sports events or taking my crew out for dinner and a movie. On quiet nights, I'm curled up with a good book or binge watching a show.
I love date nights with my husband and traveling, both as a family and on my own. World travel is one of my biggest joys, so if you want travel tips, just ask!
