Hi, I'm Amanda!
I've been around babies and their families my whole life. My mom ran a daycare out of our home, and by the time I was 11, I was a certified babysitter with CPR and first aid training, offering my services to the families in her daycare. At 16, I became a certified daycare assistant and spent my summers and school holidays working right alongside her. I went on to earn my associates degree in early childhood education and worked in daycare centers with little ones from 6 weeks to 6 years old.
Along the way, I kept finding myself drawn to the infant rooms. But a classroom never felt like the right setting for the tiniest babies, and I wanted to support moms and families in a more personal way, in their own homes. When I learned about Newborn Care Specialists, it just clicked. I loved the idea of helping newborns and their families from day one, so I made it my new career, got certified, and opened my own business. All told, I've spent 24 years supporting newborns and families.
My sweet spots are first-time parents, twins and multiples, bottle and combo feeding, gentle sleep shaping, and supporting moms through postpartum recovery.
What Support With Me Looks Like
Every baby and every family is different, so I never walk in with a one-size-fits-all plan. I'm there to support you and offer advice, and I think of the families I work with as teammates. We're all in it together, working toward the same goals.
When I arrive, we'll have a quick chat about how the day went for you and your baby and go over the plan for the night, like pumping and feeding times. Before I start my shift, I'll make sure everyone has what they need. If folding a load of laundry or doing the dishes will make your next day a little easier, I'm happy to do it.
Through the night, I keep notes on everything: wake-ups, pump times, breastmilk amounts and more. In the morning, I'll send you those notes and we'll talk through where your baby is at. By the time I leave, your baby is changed, fed and asleep.
Families have called me a baby whisperer, sent from heaven, and a life saver. But my favorite compliment is when a family reaches out to tell me they're expecting again and to make sure my calendar is clear.
A Little About Me
I'm married to the man of my dreams, and we're a blended family. He has two girls, I have two boys and a girl, and together we have five children. We love every minute of it.
I'm a Girl Scout leader and a cheer coach, and I love reading books and making chunky blankets. I'm a Christian, and I'm at church every Sunday, where I volunteer in the Kids Life program. My favorite drinks are coffee, tea and water, and my favorite foods are sushi, Thanksgiving dinner and chocolate.
